The idea for the design started with a picture of an old double cutaway Les Paul. I added the flames to the bottom of the body, due to a request from my youngest son. The body is built up from 5 pieces of oak. It has been finished with 3 coats of red automotive lacquer. This is the first time I have used automotive paint and I am quite happy with the result. It has a nice rich colour and the grain of the wood still shows through quite well. The neck is maple with a rosewood fret board, and finished with 3 coats of water based clear-coat. It has a single humbucker pickup in a fully adjustable Telecaster style bridge, one volume and one tone control. Tuners are Gotoh.
