Ancient Kauri Tele-Coaster
This is the second Ancient Kauri TeleCoaster that I have built in the last couple months. The customer had some parts kicking around and asked me if I could build him a unique guitar using as many of his parts as possible.
The body of this guitar has been cut from a beautiful slab of Ancient Kauri with a wild swirling grain. It has been finished with one coat of antique oil and two coats on Minwax Wipe On Poly.
It has a 25.5 inch scale, 21 fret maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The maple has been finished with a couple light coats of poly. The tuners are Grover Locking Tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio.
The pickups are Kent Armstrong Distortion Humbuckers.
It has 1 volume, 1 tone, a Les Paul style 3 way switch and a mini toggle on the bridge pickup. It lets you select series, split, and parallel pickup configurations.
The bridge has 6 individual fully adjustable saddles. The strings mount through the body. All hardware is chrome. It is strung with 10-46 nickel steel strings.
