The MIMF Hundred-Dollar-Caster

This guitar was built for a contest held by the Musical Instrument Makers Forum (MIMF). The idea was to build an electric guitar for less than (US)$100.00 in parts and materials.

I used a piece of Hackberry for the body and an inexpensive and slightly damaged neck that I got on ebay. The damage was a pretty easy fix. The pickups came out of my Squier Tele, the pots and switch were used and the rest of the hardware items were generic ebay purchases.

I did not have enough room in my budget for a few things… like a front control plate, output jack plate or string thru ferrells… so I had to improvise on a few things.

I am pretty happy with the way this guitar turned out. My costs totalled up to (US)$97.89.
