The Apollo SG
This was my first attempt at an SG style guitar. It is also the first time I have built a guitar from a set of plans. I modified the plan to accommodate a bolt on neck, as I don't think I am quite ready to tackle a set neck yet.
The body is laminated from 3 pieces of Mahogany. It is stained with a "chocolate maroon" aniline dye and protected with about 6 coats of Polymerized Tung Oil.
The neck is Mahogany and is also finished with Tung Oil. The fretboard is Rosewood, it has a 24.75" scale length and medium frets.
The humbucker pickups have an output of about 10.0k each. It is wired like a standard SG.
The tuners are Gotoh with a 14:1 gear ratio. All accessorial hardware is chrome.
