The DC - Dano/Tele/Fly
Over the course of the last 2 years I have accumulated a lot of extra parts, both new and used. One weekend, quite some time ago I decided I would put some of them to use on a "rainy day" project.
This guitar has a body styled like a Dano Double Cutaway and also has features of a Telecaster and a Parker Fly. The body is made from a single piece of solid Hackberry. It is finished with one coat of dark Danish Oil and three coats of Polymerized Tung Oil.
The neck was found on eBay a few years ago. Someone had tried to turn a Strat style headstock into a Parker style headstock. They didn't do a very good job, but the neck is in otherwise very good condition.
It has Tele style pickups in the bridge and neck positions and a Dano Lipstick Tube pickup in the middle position. It is wired like a Dano DC-3 with a master volume and master tone control and a 6 way rotary switch. There is also a by-pass toggle to turn on all 3 pickups at once in parallel.
The tuners and all other hardware is chrome. Although some of the parts in it are used, this is a very well built guitar that sounds and plays quite nice.
